Contemporary Brazilian pop artist Romero Britto, most well known for his colorful "Happy Art", has collaborated with some of the most iconic figures in American history, including Coca-Cola and Michael Jackson. His work is bold, vivid, and often reimagines classics such as "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci into "The First Supper" and "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo into "Genesis". These reinterpretations transform timeless masterpieces with Britto's familiar bright and energetic pop aesthetic.

Britto is often referred to as "the most licensed artist in history", and since he has already reimagined products by putting his artistic signature on Disney IPs, Monopoly board games, and Absolut Vodka, it was only a matter of time before Britto's Pop Art empire merged with video game culture.

Earlier this month, during Art Basel Miami, Britto's flagship gallery—also located in Miami—unveiled 20 original artworks featuring none other than Sonic the Hedgehog in Britto's signature pop art style. The collection showcased fine art as well as figurines, hats, keychains, and pins.

Many of the SEGA by Britto figurines are priced around $300 each, while the limited-edition art prints are available for approximately $3,600. For the more casual art observer, there are also bucket hats and t-shirts, in keeping with the spirit of accessibility that the Britto art crossover brand champions.
